The Pre-Entry-level Training (PELT) courses are designed for ab-initio technicians or maintainers who did not practice operational maintenance on helicopters in the past months or years.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Pre-Entry Level Training
Trainees can benefit from several Self-Assessments available on the AHTS Learner Portal, in order to check if they have the prerequisites to join a Type Rating course.
In case of low or average grade, it is recommended to join a Pre-Entry-level training to acquire the necessary level and thus perform the type rating course in the best conditions. The Bridge courses have different durations according to the topics, trainees’ background and goals for the planned conversion to type course.
These programs are valid for any aircraft, and can be customized for each customer. The PELT course is planned the week prior to the Type Rating course.
PREQUESITES
Applicants must have the knowledge of B1-3, B2 category.
To evaluate your aptitudes to join the course, the following tests are available on the Learner Portal, free of charge for the customer:
The Standard Practices course provides knowledge on general maintenance procedures and best practices to use maintenance tools. This course also provides safety instructions for technical operations (ex: Refueling, fire extinguishers).

Hold a valid type rating on the corresponding type of aircraft

Be capable of reading and understanding the official maintenance documentation, and have the ability to write and communicate in comprehensive English, to prevent any misunderstandings.

Storage and preservation
Blade standard practices
Practical “hands-on”
Important note: This course is not Part 147 approved.
CERTIFICATE
After successful course completion, the trainee will be awarded an AHTS diploma.
