NH90

Type Rating

The NH90 Type Rating course is designed to provide the pilot with the knowledge and necessary skills to fly and operate NH 90 aircraft. It combined theoretical, simulation and flight instruction. The content of the training courses are, as far as applicable, in accordance with the standards as specified by the EASA PART FCL regulations.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Type Rating NH90

PREQUESITES

APPLICANTS MUST

  • Be qualified as a helicopter pilot and have at least 1000 flight hours experience

  • Have at least 100 flight hours experience as Captain on board on another type of helicopter

  • Be multi-engine helicopter rated

  • Hold an up-to-date IFR qualification

  • Have completed the familiarization course

  • Have a suitable experience in Night Vision Goggles operation

  • Know the principles of Electronic Flight Instrument System (EFIS) and flight Management System (FMS)

  • Be familiar with the use of helicopter documentation

  • Have the capacity to read, write and communicate in English with comprehensive level on technical documentation.


  • An English test is available on the AHTS Learner Portal free of charge to the customer.

    At the end of the courses, the trainee will perform a type rating skills test and flight assessment in compliance with the training syllabus. The applicant should demonstrate the required skills for the safe operation of the applicable type of helicopter

    CERTIFICATE

    After successful course completion, the trainee will be awarded an AHTS certificate.

    NH90 TTH

    Type Rating Instructor

    The Type Rating Instructor course is designed to provide the applicant with the necessary level of competence to deliver a type rating training on NH 90 TTH.

  • Hold a valid pilot member license or equivalent

  • Have completed at least 1000 flight hours as helicopter Pilot

  • Have at least 350 flight hours in Multi-pilot or 100 flight hours in multi-Pilot NH 90 TTH

    REVIEW AND UPDATE OF NH 90 TTH TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Basic and missions system

  • Normal and emergency procedures
  • PEDAGOGICAL INSTRUCTION

  • Educational methods about teaching to adults

  • Briefing preparation

  • In-flight lessons:
    - Learn how to manage a trainee during flight training
    - Normal and emergency procedures
  • SKILLS TEST

    At the end of the courses, the trainee will perform a type rating skills test and flight assessment in compliance with the training syllabus. The applicant should demonstrate the required skills for the safe operations of the applicable type of helicopter.

    PRIVILEGES

    The privileges of the holder of a TRI (H) NH 90 TTH are to instruct license holders regarding the revalidation or renewal on NH 90 TTH, including (when applicable), the extension of IR privileges.

    CERTIFICATE

    After successful course completion, the trainee will be awarded an AHTS certificate.

    Synthetic Flight Instructor

    The Synthetic Flight Instructor (SFI) training course is designed to provide the applicant with the necessary level of competence to deliver a type rating and recurrent training on NH 90 simulators.

  • Have completed at least 1000 flight hours as helicopter Pilot

  • Have completed an Initial type rating on NH 90 TTH helicopter

    The privileges of the holder of a SFI (H) NH 90 TTH are to instruct license holders in Full Flight Simulator for NH 90 TTH type rating or recurrent training

    After successful course completion, the trainee will be awarded an AHTS certificate.
